Our Mission
Glidden Development Group is a non-profit organization helping businesses develop and grow in and around Glidden, Iowa.  We're working to create economic vitality and add to the high quality of life in our area through leadership collaborations, business support and member-driven services.

Our Services
Since, 2003, we've been providing businesses exposure, networking opportunities, professional development and technology training.  We work to provide our members and the community with the resources needed to become successful.  Our committees help influence the business decisions being made in our community.

Our Meetings

Our History
A group of Glidden business persons got together in winter of 2002-03 to discuss the future of Glidden, Carroll County and the surrounding area.  There were other towns in the county that had formed local development groups that focused energy on the promotion and growth of their towns.  The Glidden group felt the time was right to form a group in Glidden with the following mission:

The mission of the Glidden Development Group, Inc. is to support and promote the growth of Glidden.  We work together in a public/private group to facilitate a “can do” attitude to promote business, agriculture, education, general living conditions and quality of life.  The group will support existing business, farms and the school to expand their current and future operations and to create additional jobs to the benefit of our local economy.  We are also committed to attracting new business, housing and residents.  Thus, creating new employment opportunities, increasing the tax base and maintaining our public infrastructure.

Today the group has more than 15 active members that meet on an as needed basis.  The group has hosted an economic development workshop for residents of Glidden to help educate community members about the need for an active effort on the part of the town to promote and grow the community.

The group has also been involved in the investigation of a business park adjacent to the Town of Glidden and helped with fundraising for the new Glidden Swimming Pool Project.
