Aquatic Center and Pool Park
A new Aquatic Center was
opened on May 30, 2005. The pool includes a diving board,
water slide, zero depth entry, children’s play structure,
lap lanes and bathhouse. The Aquatic Center is open daily
from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and is located at 704 Arizona Street
(corner of Arizona and U.S. Highway 30 on west edge of

The Aquatic Center is open daily from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 PM.
Monday through Friday – 12:00 Noon to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday – 12 Noon to 5 p.m. with Family Time only from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There is also a city park
adjoining the Aquatic Center. The park includes a
shelter house, picnic tables and benches, grill and sand
volleyball court. To reserve the shelter, please call

Northland Park
Enjoy the walking trails and butterfly garden in this expansive
park located along Highway 30 and Arizona St. The park
also features a shelter house.
Dickson Timber
This
155 acre wooded area offers hiking trails as well as primitive
and electrical hook-up camping sites. There is also a
stone shelter. The park is two miles east and 4.5 miles
north of Glidden.
City Park
Play tennis, have a picnic or turn the kids loose on the
playground equipment...it's an all-American park right in the
heart of Glidden.
Swan Lake State Park
Swan Lake is just 2 miles south
of Carroll and 10 minutes from Glidden. It is a 510 acre multi-use area including a 115 acre lake
with 200 campsites. The Sauk Rail Trail is a 33 mile hiking/ biking
trail that runs from Swan Lake State Park, Carroll to Black Hawk State
Park, Lake View. Also check out the new Nature Conservation
Center.
Raccoon River Valley Bike Trail
Ride this 65 mile trail from Jefferson just east of Glidden all
the way to Clive and Des Moines. Passing through Dallas, Guthrie and
Greene counties with expansive views of prairie and river valley timberland as
you cruise down the old railroad trail dating back to the 1870s...learn

Carroll Rec. Center has an indoor swimming pool, waterslide,
outdoor wading pool, whirlpool, sauna, 2 basketball courts, 2 volleyball
courts, 2 tennis courts, exercise room, game room and a 400 seat theater.
