1952: The Tarawa Terrace water purification plant, one of two significant treatment facilities that were in charge of dispersing the contaminated water, was constructed to offer clean water to the locals of Tarawa Terrace, a neighborhood within Camp Lejeune. The Tarawa Terrace water treatment plant’s ability to treat and transport water would quickly deteriorate into a hazardous condition.
1953: Another place that was included in the initial Camp Lejeune planning plans is Hadnot Point. Around the same period, the government built the Hadnot Point water treatment plant to serve the community. 2022: On August 2, 2022, the Camp Lejeune Justice Act was approved as a component of the Honoring Our PACT Act 2022 (PACT Act). With the passage of these laws, vets, their relatives, and innocent citizens who spent 30 or more days living or working at Camp Lejeune between 1953 and 1987 and experienced the development of specific health conditions are now qualified to file Camp Lejeune lawsuits to receive monetary compensation for their lost wages, medical costs, and discomfort and suffering.
